Stony Brook, New York
Donna Albergo is a registered nurse at Stony Brook University Medical Center and currently works as a data manager in the department of Quality Measurement and Analytics. She abstracts data from vascular cases such as EVAR, TEVAR, CEA, CAS, Hemodialysis Access, PVI, Open AAA, Infra-Inguinal, and Supra-Inguinal Bypass, and inputs it into M2S for the Patient Safety Organization/Society for Vascular Surgery to review. She has held numerous positions in her thirty years of being a registered nurse. She started out her career on a surgical telemetry unit, and then spent 12 years in the Cardiothoracic ICU before becoming a liaison for the department (a position that she actually created and takes much pride in). After that, she went on to the Quality Department where she initiated the Thoracic Registry (Society of Thoracic Surgery) before switching over to the Vascular Quality Initiative Registry.
Donna was the lead data manager for the Vascular Study Group of Greater New York for 2 years and would assist the regional medical director with the bi-annual meetings. She was instrumental in getting Stony Brook University Medical Center the 3-star Certificate of Achievement.
