Fatemeh Malekpour, MD was born and raised in Iran. She graduated from Azad University in Tehran and completed her general surgery residency and vascular surgery fellowship at Shaheed Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran. She graduated as the first female vascular surgeon in Iran in 2010. Upon completion of a mini fellowship in Milan, Italy as a part of young surgeon program of International Society of Vascular Surgery, she moved to the United States. She completed general surgery training at Bronx Lebanon medical center, NY, concurrently with a masters in Epidemiology at London School of hygiene and tropical medicine, followed by vascular surgery fellowship at UT Southwestern medical center, Dallas, TX.
Dr Malekpour joined as faculty to UTSW in 2019, where she worked till January 2021. She is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery of Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and works in Staten Island University Hospital in NYC. She is a member of international relations committee of Society of Vascular Surgery since 2019.
