Mark G. Davies M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A. is Professor and Chief, Vascular/Endovascular Surgery at the UTHSCSA and Director of the South Texas Center for Vascular Care, the region’s only Comprehensive Vascular Center of Excellence for pediatric and adult patients.
Dr. Davies is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin and obtained both the FRCS (Ire) and FRCS (Eng). In 1991, He completed his research fellowship and GeneralS urgical Residency Duke University from the Duke University in 1997. his Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of Washington in 1997. He is board certified in Vascular and General Surgery, in Wound Care and in Medical Quality. After training Dr. Davies joined the University of Rochester rising to the rank of Associate Professor. He completed his MBA from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester. In 2008, Dr. Davies joined Houston Methodist (Weill Cornell Medical College, NY) as Vice Chairman and founding program director for an integrated residency and fellowship program in vascular surgery. He was also an Associate Chief Quality Officer and the Physician Lead for System wide Supply Chain. In 2015, he joined the University of Texas at San Antonio as Professor and Chief of Vascular/ Endovascular Surgery and founded the South Texas Center for Vascular Care, established a vascular fellowship and created a joint UT-DoD faculty and residency partnership. He is a founding member of Biomedical Engineering-Mechatronics-Artificial Intelligence-Cyber (BIO.M.A.C.) Vascular Surgery Research and Development Center and the Center for Quality, Effectiveness and Outcomes in Cardiovascular Diseases (CV-QED).
