Dr. Monika L. Gloviczki studied at the Faculty of Medicine in Paris, where she earned her MD title in 1991. She defended her PhD Thesis in 1992, on neuro-meningeal listeriosis. She obtained a master’s degree in Statistic Methodology and Statistics in Clinical Research at the University Pierre and Marie Curie in 2002. She received Board certification in Phlebology in 2007, at the Faculty of Medicine in Paris. From 1992 to 2007, Dr. Gloviczki worked at Servier Laboratories, a leading French independent pharmaceutical company, on preclinical and clinical research studies involving Micronized Purified Flavonoid Fraction (MPFF) and on the development of new drugs for venous and lymphatic disorders. She was a leader of observational and double-blind randomized studies in venous insufficiency, venous ulcers, and lymphedema.
She joined Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, in 2007, as a Research Fellow. She received the Mayo Clinic Department of Medicine Outstanding Research Fellow Award. She was Research Collaborator of the Gonda Vascular Center. Her research included renovascular hypertension, and venous ulcers in Olmsted County. Dr. Gloviczki is author or co-author of several publications and books chapters. She was Assistant Editor of the 3rd and 4th Edition of the Handbook of Venous and Lymphatic Disorders. She has been an active member of the American Venous Forum (AVF) and served as Chair and Member of Venous Ulcer Guidelines, Lymphedema and Varicose Vein Guidelines Committee. She was named Distinguished Fellow of the AVF and Honorary Member of the French College of Vascular Pathology.
