Debra Kohlman-Trigoboff is an acute care NP in Duke Heart and Vascular at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. She has worked for over 18 years in cardiology caring for cardiovascular patients. She previously worked for 13 years in Vascular Surgery at the Washington Hospital Center in D.C where she was the NP/ clinical coordinator for the Center for Vascular Disease. She is a certified in vascular nursing. Debra holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of San Diego, a Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland, where she also obtained her Acute Care NP certificate. She has published numerous articles and participated in research studies involving cardiovascular patients. She is an active member of the SVN, served as President and a member of the Board of Directors for several years, developed vascular patient education materials, co-developed a vascular certification course. As a member of the SVN’s Practice and Research committee, she was the lead author of the update of SVN’s endovascular repair of AAA nursing clinical practice guideline published in June 2020 in the JVN. She has worked for several years on the PAD task force of AHA, helping to create PAD National Action Plan (release date May 2022). She serves as co-lead in developing provider education webinars/podcasts/PAD APP for PAD through AHA. She is serving as the liaison on the AHA PVD committee representing the SVN. Debra focuses on cardiovascular risk reduction in her current position which blends her experience in vascular surgery with that of cardiology.
