Alaska Pendleton was born and raised in Wisconsin, graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in Biochemistry and German. She graduated from Harvard Medical School in 2016. An integrated vascular resident at Massachusetts General Hospital, she completed her MPH from Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health and a fellowship with the Harvard Program in Global Surgery and Social Change in 2021. Her research aims to expand access to high-quality surgical care in low-resource settings domestically and abroad through multimodal health systems strengthening. Through her work, she strives to address health outcome disparities, empower and mentor women clinicians, and reduce gender disparities in medical education and health systems.
