Palma Shaw is Professor of Surgery at State University of New York and a member of the Division of Vascular Surgery at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. She is the Program Director of the Vascular Fellowship, Director of the Venous Program and has developed and leads their Limb Preservation Program. She has an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Heller School at Brandeis University. Dr. Shaw completed General Surgery training at Saint Vincents Medical Center and Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. She is board certified in General and Vascular Surgery. She was a Visiting Research Fellow with Dr. Frank Veith at Montefiore Medical Center. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Distinguished Fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery, and serves as the Secretary General of the World Federation of Vascular Societies. She is the President-Elect for the International Society for Endovascular Specialists, Member-at-large for the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, Councilor-at-large for the Eastern Vascular Society and has served as Vice President of the New England Society for Vascular Surgery. She has chaired numerous committees for the Eastern Vascular Society, International Relations Committee for the SVS, and developed and chaired the Allied Health Committee for the NESVS. She serves as a Vascular Surgery Board Examiner. As a Program Director of the Vascular Fellowship she participates in the Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery and has served as a mentor for numerous vascular fellows.
